What is at risk?

The oil spill in The Gulf of Mexico has been pretty serious and has been harming wildlife,the environment, economic issues and peoples health. It has been harming wildlife because the oil has been able to get into wet lands or places where animals live. When the animals such as birds get caught in the oil it can poison them and cause death.

People have economic issues because of the oil spill because it will cost a lot of money to clean up all the oil, to pay people to help clean, to get to the oil and also to try and close the spot where all the oil is coming from.

It has also affected peoples health because when we try to burn off the oil it releases toxins which are not good for our health. Also if animals like fish get oil in their system it can cause deformities and stuff so when we eat the fish we can get sick as well.
That is why it is so important that we as people need to get as much oil as we can cleaned up!
