Dying Because of Humans

The BP Oil Spill last year has caused a tremendous amount of damage to the environment and to animals. Look at the photo above. A bird completely covered in thick, clumpy oil. As of August 13^th, 2010, 4768 animals have been killed due to the spill. This is only from the BP spill. Also many more have been harmed too. Lots of animals ingest the oil. Therefore getting ulcers and bleeding internally. It is extremely sad that all these animals have been harmed because of humans and their mistakes. It breaks my heart to see pictures of animals like this. Helpless and dyeing.  All because of humans. That’s the worst part. We did this to them and we still are. Oil spills continue to occur and continue to bring havoc. Will they ever stop? I believe that we will never be able to totally eliminate oil spills from happening. But I can only hope that we can start to reduce the amount occurring. Imagine how many animals lives would be saved if oil spills where stopped. I know…LOTS.         ~Chelsea
