Oil spills pollute our earth severely. Birds and fish swimming in the water, are poisoned or killed by the oil. This affects us humans because if we want to eat the fish and can't because they are poisoned then we lose out on food. Or, if someone does end up eating the fish, then they get poisoned, or killed. Also when the oil is burned, it releases toxic gases into the air, if humans breathe that in, the will be affected as well.
